Hi. I’m Shannon. Photographer. Artist. Designer.
As long as I can remember I’ve felt a need to create. I’m not sure I’ve met a medium I don’t like; which makes it impossible to focus on only one. I began my college career majoring in painting and graduated with a degree in Interior Design from the University of Kansas.
Photographing families throughout all stages of life from in-home newborn sessions to family portraits to senior sessions and everything in between has been a joyous time for me since I started Simply Devine Photography with my sister in 2012.
Painting is still one of the most relaxing and rewarding pastimes for me. When I’m not working on a commissioned painting or editing during family portrait season, I’m painting things. Things I find beautiful, things that catch my eye or the light just right. Things from nature.
I’m also lucky to call design as part of my day job. With experience helping clients customize furniture and laying out living spaces and now working for a builder – picking out all of the finishes from interior and exterior paint, complete kitchens and baths and all the fun parts from the inside out of new construction homes.
